What are the Progression Mitts?
The Progression Mitts are waterproof, insulated mitts designed for winter ski trips, snowboarding, ski touring, and subzero mountain missions. They're ideal for additional protection in wet storms, thanks to their reliable Gore-Tex® membrane and synthetic Primaloft® Gold Cross Core insulation.
What are they made of?
These mitts mainly use goat leather in their construction, which is highly durable, naturally waterproof and supple to provide plenty of flexibility. They have EVA padding on the back of the hand and knuckle for extra reinforcement and added impact protection. Cuffs are made with low-profile neoprene material to provide a warm, secure closure around the wrist, boosting heat retention and helping keep the powder out.
Progression Mitts use a combination of Primaloft® Gold Crosscore and Primaloft® Gold Eco with Grip Control to increase warmth.
Primaloft® Gold with Crosscore technology is a woven, synthetic insulation. It is the Gold standard of Primaloft™ insulation, providing the ultimate level of warmth compared to other fibres. The technically advanced fibres are infused with Aerogel technology, which is used by NASA and acclaimed for its ultra-lightweight yet ultra-insulative properties.
Primaloft® Gold Eco with Grip Control is similar to the above, minus the Crosscore technology. Instead, it has added slip resistance for improved grip and is made from recycled fibres for a lesser environmental impact without compromising warmth and performance.
They are lined with a Gore-Tex® waterproof insert with added Gore® Plus Warm technology, making them fully waterproof yet breathable enough to help prevent your hands from feeling clammy and sweaty when worn. As you may have guessed, the Plus Warm technology optimises warmth and maintains heat for longer.
What are their features?
Most of the techy stuff comes within the fabrics, not so much the features - they're mitts! They have a mitt design instead of individual finger gloves, keeping your hands a little cosier and amplifying the warmth of the insulation and Plus Warm technology. Think of these as tiny sleeping bags for your hands.
These mitts also come with a wide-band wrist leash that provides all-day security and comfort; super handy (quite literally) to ensure you don't lose one on the slopes or during a more technical mountain pursuit.
