What is the Protium Lite Hoodie?
In simple terms, it's a lighter version of the classic Montane Protium fleece. The Protium Lite is still warm and cosy yet lighter and less bulky than the regular version, making it ideal for a variety of adventures like climbing, scrambling and hiking, or even casual, everyday use.
What is it made of?
The Protium Lite comprises Thermo Grid Lite fleece, which provides plenty of warmth and breathability to help regulate body temperature whilst out on the hill. It has a brushed back that feels lovely against the skin, should you be wearing it as a baselayer or with a vest or tee underneath.
Thermo Grid Lite is super stretchy and provides excellent freedom of movement for more technical ascents or for using walking poles. It can wick away moisture efficiently, ensuring you won't be left feeling clammy and sticky after a hard session.
What are its features?
The hood fits comfortably under a climbing helmet to offer extra protection and warmth for technical ascents on more exposed routes.
At the front, the 1/3 length zip makes it easy to put on or take off, and gives you the option to dump some heat and draw in more airflow if you're working up a sweat.
Low profile, flatlocked seams help reduce rubbing and chafing if you're wearing this piece next to skin or with a backpack, as they feel much smoother and are less bulky than regular stitched seams.
The Protium Lite is designed with a trim fit which optimises the material's moisture wicking performance when worn next to the skin.
Finally, low profile hem and cuffs allow you to diversify your layering system and add something over the top or underneath without getting in the way.
