What is the Templet Midlayer Zip?
It's a quarter-zip fleece designed to provide exceptional warmth and comfort for a variety of mountain adventures. The Templet is the perfect midlayer for winter yet could be worn as a lightweight outer layer during spring and autumn for both outdoor and general, everyday activities.
What is it made of?
As Tierra continues to develop its focus towards more sustainable solutions and materials, the Templet Midlayer Zip embodies these efforts perfectly, seen through the fabric it's made with.
The Templet is constructed using an Oeko-Tex-certified, Biobased wool mix. The Biobased blend comprises 60% RWS-certified wool and 40% Tencel™ Lyocell. The material has a grid backer that improves temperature regulation, without compromising warmth and overall performance.
Wool is immensely sustainable compared to other conventional materials on the market. Not only does it perform just as well, providing fantastic levels of breathability and insulation for its weight, but it's also biodegradable, renewable, and completely natural. To top it off, the wool used in the Templet is RWS-certified. The RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) certification helps improve animal welfare whilst preserving and protecting land health by assessing the welfare of the sheep the wool came from and the land they graze on.
Tencel™ Lyocell fibres are made from sustainably sourced, responsibly processed wood. These cellulose fibres are designed to enhance a material's strength and softness. They can also absorb moisture much more efficiently than cotton, supporting the body's thermoregulation to keep you comfortable during intense activities and challenging ascents.
What are its features?
As mentioned, the Templet Midlayer Zip has a quarter-length zip which is great for ventilation if you're working hard. An internal wind placket sits behind the zip, helping to stop drafts from seeping through the fastening to maximise heat retention.
The collar feels lovely and cosy without being tight or restrictive. It sits midway up the neck and is exceptionally soft next to the skin.
For storage, there's one zipped pocket on the chest that fits mobile phones perfectly. It's ideal for keeping belongings within easy reach, whether car keys, a GPS or those all-important snacks for longer days on the trails.
Raglan cut sleeves provide better mobility around the arms and shoulders, allowing you to stretch for your next climbing hold and feel less restricted when using walking poles.
Flatlock seams on the side panels and sleeves help to reduce bulk and prevent rubbing and chafing on the skin, handy for intense adventures or multi-day ascents where you're wearing this fleece for long periods at a time.
Overall, the Templet has a minimal finish, with a discreet clip branding label at the bottom hem and branded zip pulls.
