What is the Ultra 7R?
It's a super lightweight sleeping mat designed for tough, fast-paced adventures where every gram counts. The Ultra 7R is ideal for four-season use and works incredibly well in sub-zero temperatures. The MW indicates the size of this mat, which is regular length and wider width.
What is it made of?
The mat comprises recycled 20D ripstop polyester, which is light yet durable enough to withstand use in rugged terrain. By using recycled material, Exped is helping to keep plastic out of landfills and also uses less water, energy and CO2 to produce this mat.
The outer has a TPU laminate finish for extra abrasion resistance, eliminating the need for a DWR, as the finish naturally beads water. This combination of materials is bluesign® certified, meaning it's manufactured in a way that is safe for the environment, workers and consumers. bluesign® certifications ensure that the materials used avoid harmful substances, use reduced air and water emissions, increase resource productivity, and the production line is more transparent and trustworthy.
The Ultra 7R is insulated with 700 cubic inches of down-filling, providing exceptional warmth, even in extreme climates and sub-zero temperatures.
All of the down used to insulate this mat is RDS-certified. RDS stands for the Responsible Down Standard and ensures that the down is sourced from happy birds who are well cared for and haven't been plucked.

Comfort Cradle side rails enhance the cradling effect of the mat to help even the wriggliest sleepers stay on it! These side rails are basically larger air chambers that sit on each side of the mat, hugging you into the centre.
A Schnozzel pump bag is included with this mat to make for rapid, easy and moisture-free inflation, so you don't have to blow yourself dizzy setting up camp!
