It's a high-performance 1/4 zip top that works just as fantastically as a technical baselayer as it does a regular tee. The Boulder 125 1/4 Zip offers supreme comfort, moisture-wicking performance and practical ventilation for both outdoor and casual pursuits.
What is it made of?
The Boulder 125 1/4 Zip is made with unique Nuyarn Merino material, which uses a blend of merino wool and nylon. Merino wool is renowned for being naturally odour-resistant, durable, breathable and moisture-wicking. The wool in this material is non-mulesed, so no animals were forced to endure cruel and painful processes as a result.
Nuyarn technology enhances the performance of merino wool by using a patented twist-free process to construct the yarns instead of traditional spinning methods. It drafts the fibres along a high-performance filament, which amplifies its natural properties for unparalleled performance, offering superior next-to-skin benefits. It has a 5x faster drying time and 35% more stretch and loft (lessening the weight). Nuyarn is also 53% less wind permeable and 50% more durable than standard merino, and it still uses 30% less raw materials! Pretty impressive, huh?
What are its features?
The high neck sits reasonably close to the skin without being uncomfortable or restrictive. The YKK® zipper sits 1/4 length down the centre front, which is super handy if you need extra ventilation or even want to put another layer underneath.
Long sleeves and a slightly longer torso give you extra coverage. These details, combined with gusseted armpits, make this baselayer perfect for climbing, where you're stretching out to reach the next hold.
It feels extremely soft against the skin yet is durable enough to be worn again and again without wearing down fast.
Thumb loops are fantastic for keeping your hands warmer and more protected. Personally, I find them useful for putting jackets or hoodies on over the top, as they stop your sleeves from riding up your arm!
No-chafe flatlock seams reduce the bulk and prevent the stitching from rubbing uncomfortably against the skin, should you be wearing this t-shirt for longer periods, making it ideal for long trail hikes or multi-day adventures across various seasons.
If you get caught in a shower, the hang dry loop is ideal for drying this piece out when camping or during hut-to-hut adventures.
