What is the Alpine LS?
It's a midweight baselayer with a tight-fitting hood and fleecy inside, designed to give you maximum warmth during colder months. The Alpine LS is fantastic for trail running, fastpacking, ultrarunning, and fast hiking during winter, where you'll likely be working up a sweat and need optimum temperature regulation and comfort.
What is it made of?
A blend of recycled polyester and elastane allows this piece to be reasonably light yet stretchy and durable enough to withstand regular use. It's quick drying and breathable, making it easy to wash and dry and keeping you comfy during intense activity by wicking away sweat and moisture from the inside. The elastane gives the fabric a lovely four-way stretch, allowing you to move as freely as you like - ideal for steep ascents and when using running poles.
The Alpine LS also has inserts made from polyamide and elastane, which again are extremely durable and flexible, for extra reinforcement where it's needed.
What are its features?
The Alpine LS works well as both a midweight baselayer or even a warm midlayer for icy conditions.
One of the biggest highlights is the scuba-style hood. It sits tight and high on the face, meaning you won't have to wear a hat, buff or balaclava when it's icy out.
Micro perforations are laser cut into the material (tiny holes, basically), which allow you to breathe underneath and provide extra airflow to improve thermoregulation.
Flatlock stitching keeps the top feeling silky smooth against the skin and helps prevent rubbing and chafing when you're wearing it for longer periods.
On the right-hand side, there's a subtle zipped pocket for storing essentials like energy gels and snacks to keep you fuelled throughout your session.
It's finished with small reflective details that will keep you visible in poor conditions or if you're training after dark.
