What is the Caldus XT Hoodie?
The Caldus XT is a luxuriously soft high-pile fleece hoodie that offers fantastic warmth and breathability for a wide range of outdoor activities and everyday use in cold climates. It's a highly versatile midlayer that can be popped underneath a shell jacket in cold conditions or worn as a light outer layer in dry, milder climates.
What is it made from?
Montane has constructed the Caldus XT Hoodie from its own Thermo HL fabric, with Vector Lite pocket overlays. Thermo HL comprises 100% polyester, 70% of which is recycled and is a double-sided high-loft material that's engineered for exceptional warmth and breathability, allowing moisture to escape easily so you don't overheat. This high-loft material features a luxuriously soft hand feel while being highly effective at trapping warm air, allowing you to stay warm and comfortable in very cold conditions. It also boasts a mechanical stretch for freedom of movement and excellent moisture management, making it ideal for a wide range of activities in cold weather.
The chest pocket overlays are made from a two-way stretch performance fabric called Vector lite, which comprises woven nylon and elastane for long-lasting durability, whilst also offering light wind-resistance.
What are its features?
The Caldus XT features a simple full-length YKK front zipper and low-profile stretch cuffs and hem for a comfortable fit without unnecessary bulk. A close fitting hood with elasticated closure fits comfortably underneath a climbing helmet to provide additional warmth in cold climates.
For storage, you'll find two zipped chest pockets with Vector Lite fabric overlays, ideal for easy access items such as a mobile phone and GPS device. There are also two generously sized zipped hand pockets that offer space for storing essentials for a day out on the hill or the daily dog walk. The Vector Lite fabric overlays offer not only convenient storage, but light wind resistance to the chest to help reduce wind chill on blustery days.
The Caldus XT is created in a regular fit using Montane's new fit block, which is a standard fit that offers enough room for versatile outdoor and everyday use. It's designed to fit over the top of a base layer while allowing for additional outer layers when needed.
