What is the Highpile Hooded Jacket?

The Highpile Hooded Jacket is a soft, hooded fleece with softshell overlays that works just as well in the mountains as it does at home by the fire. It's super cosy and makes the perfect midlayer for harsh winter missions and everyday errands in cold temperatures.

What is it made of?

The Highpile comprises recycled polyester fleece with Mountain Equipment's Exolite softshell overlays. The high-pile, polyester fleece is incredibly soft, warm and comfortable next to the skin.

Exolite overlay patches are added to high-wear areas to provide extra durability for outdoor use.

Exolite is a durable, double-weave softshell made with polyamide and elastane. Lab-tested and field-tested, Exolite is proven to be incredibly durable and worthy of wear in any season. It's completely windproof and is treated with an FC-free DWR (durable water repellent) to give you that extra protection in more exposed conditions. These details also make the Highpile an ideal light outer layer for shoulder seasons, whether on the hill or a little closer to home.

What are its features?

An elastane-bound hood, cuffs, and hem cinch material to seal the warmth in and keep the breeze out without feeling restrictive and uncomfortable.

The construction uses overlocking and top-stitching to provide next-to-skin comfort, should you wear a t-shirt underneath.

For storage, there are two zipped hand pockets, which are ideal for stowing away snacks, energy gels, a GPS device or a mobile phone.

The Highpile Hooded Jacket is constructed with an Alpine Fit, which is much more refined and sits closer to the body. This fit is in no way tight and uncomfortable, as the stretchy fabric allows plenty of freedom of movement. It also keeps bulk to a minimum, making it easier to layer jackets over the top.
