What is the R1 Pullover Hoodie?
The R1 Pullover iss a warm fleece hoodie with a versatile design that suits a range of cold weather activities, such as hiking, mountaineering, dog walking, or even relaxing at home.
What is it made of?
Patagonia contructed this fleece using lightweight, breathable Polartec® Power Grid® with built-in HeiQ Pure odour control technology.
Polartec Power Grid® fleece comprises polyester and spandex to deliver premium stretch and softness. This material uses a unique, bi-component patented knit that strengthens performance efficiency by increasing both warmth and breathability. The knit uses geometric patterns that help improve packability and moisture-wicking performance, helping to avoid sweat or condensation build-up if you're breathing heavily or working hard.
HeiQ® Pure odour neutralising technology uses non-ionic, silver-based, antimicrobial odour control and achieves a high antimicrobial efficiacy from a low dosage. It allows you to benefit from all the technical material performance without spoiling the fresh mountain air. Plus, it means you can get away with washing this fleece less, meaning not only do you have less laundry to do, but you save more water, too!
This product is also made in a Fair Trade Factory™, giving Patagonia more control of the operations in the factories they choose to work with. Patagonia proudly offers more Fair Trade styles than any other apparel brand in the current market. But how does it work? Patagonia pays a premium for every item made in one of these factories, and this money goes directly to the factory workers. A democratically elected committee of Fair Trade workers will decide how this extra money gets spent in each Fair Trade factory. The program also promotes worker health and safety, and social and environmental compliance, while encouraging healthier dialogue between workers and management.
What are its features?
A snug-fitting, low-profile balaclava hood fits comfortably over a helmet strap, while the centre-front zip with a soft kissing-welt zip garage provides next-to-skin comfort when the zip is fully fastened.
Off-shoulder seams deliver optimum comfort, even when wearing a backpack, as they don't sit underneath the shoulder straps and rub on the skin as a result.
An anti-pilling finish is applied to the panels of fabric on the sides and lower body to help enhance the fleece's lifespan whilst minimising wear-and-tear.
The pullover design features a deep, centre-front zip that allows ventilation when needed. Sleeves have discreet thumbholes that are built into the seams, providing extra coverage in cold conditions without having a gaping hole around your wrists when your thumbs aren't looped in.
For storage, there's a slim-zip, left-chest pocket with a mesh pocket bag. The bag is light and low-bulk and provides extra ventilation when required; simply empty the pocket and leave it open to draw extra airflow through the mesh fabric.
A longer-length torso stays tucked under a harness, backpack, or waistbelt, and provides some extra coverage for cold and challenging conditions.
