What are the Respond Gloves?
They're ultra-lightweight and highly packable gloves that use a combination of PrimaLoft® GOLD insulation and Pertex® fabric for reliable warmth and protection, whatever the conditions. They boast a remarkable warmth-to-weight ratio, making them ideal for fast and light adventures and various outdoor activities in cold weather.
What is it made from?
Montane has constructed the Respond Gloves from Pertex® Quantum with PrimaLoft® GOLD insulation for reliable warmth and a brushed tricot lining to enhance performance.
Insulation: The Respond Gloves use 60g of PrimaLoft® GOLD insulation for warmth even in wet conditions. PrimaLoft® GOLD offers the ultimate warmth-to-weight ratio and has incredible packability and softness. It also happens to be made from 100% recycled polyester, making it a more environmentally responsible material. Even if your gloves get wet during your cold-weather adventure, simply wring them out, and the insulation still performs impressively well when wet and dries exceptionally quickly.
Fabrics: The outer mitt is constructed from Pertex® Quantum that comprises 100% recycled nylon. Pertex® fabrics are created from recycled materials and use tightly woven fibres for excellent wind resistance and durability whilst still being lightweight and soft. They are designed to perfectly balance wind resistance and breathability, providing the ultimate performance for intense, fast-paced mountain missions. The Pertex® Quantum outer traps still air, helping to warm the insulation and maintain its efficiency whilst creating a light, protective barrier from the elements. This fabric is also coated with a PFC-Free DWR (durable water repellent) to further enhance the fabric's water-resistant properties, encouraging rain and snow to bead off the gloves instead of soaking in. However, please note that this does not make the gloves waterproof.
The Respond Gloves also used faux leather on the tips of the thumbs for touchscreen compatibility, whatever the weather. Whilst a brushed tricot lining made from recycled polyester provides additional warmth and moisture management. This soft lining is fast-drying and moisture-wicking, to further enhance the glove’s performance.
What are its features?
The Respond Gloves feature a women's specific design that is created to fit petite hands perfectly, providing maximum dexterity for using zippers, pull cords and performing other fiddley tasks.
Pre-curved seams on the fingers provide a natural range of movement, while the touchscreen-compatible faux leather thumb and fingertip ends ensure you can still operate your mobile phone without having to take the gloves off and expose your hands to the cold.
The wrists are elasticated to provide a snug fit, keeping the vital wrist area warm, even if you're layering gloves. Top-stitch quilting ensures the insulation doesn't move over time, keeping it evenly distributed to provide maximum warmth across the hands. Finally, the gloves come with their own stuff sack for quick and easy storage when not in use, helping them take up minimal room in your pack.
