What are the Congham 3-Finger Gloves?
The name gives a huge clue: they're a three-finger glove/ mitten hybrid that uses a split-finger design for added warmth and dexterity, making them suitable for various snow sports, cold-weather activities and daily tasks outdoors in cold climates.
What are they made from?
Sealskinz has used a combination of Primaloft® Gold insulation and their own Aquasealz™ waterproof membrane to keep your hands toasty and dry. Not only is this combination incredibly warm, but it's also highly breathable, allowing sweat to escape when you're working hard to maintain a better grip.
PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation is used for ample warmth throughout the gloves. This synthetic insulation is cosy, breathable and highly efficient with lower bulk and weight. The small fibres of this insulation provide maximum thermal efficiency; they're thinner than human hair, and the thinner the fibres, the warmer the insulation will be. Synthetic insulation is also effective when wet, unlike down insulation which loses all its heat as it becomes damp, making it ideal for exploring in challenging conditions.
Aquasealz™ waterproof membrane is a triple-layer design consisting of a high-performance hydrophilic membrane sandwiched between a durable outer layer and a soft, moisture-wicking inner layer. Unlike traditional hydrophobic membranes, this hydrophilic membrane is made from materials that attract water molecules, allowing them to draw moisture through the membrane much more effectively, whilst still protecting your hands from rain and snow. Allowing moisture vapor from the body to escape to the outside of the gloves, keeps you dry and comfortable, no matter how hard you're working.
The palm is constructed from premium, supple goat skin leather, which delivers excellent grip, even after continued wear. It also provides added durability to the gloves, allowing them to last for many years to come. The back of the hands are lined with a soft fleece fabric for added comfort and added warmth.
What are their features?
The Congham gloves feature a split-finger design to increase the glove's thermal efficiency whilst providing much better dexterity than mittens, allowing you to perform various tasks in freezing conditions. Their gauntlet style offers greater coverage for your wrist, and they feature elasticated wrists with a secure wrist strap to allow you to dial in the perfect snug fit around chunky layers to keep your hands warm and the elements out. As previously mentioned, the gloves feature a supple goat leather palm for excellent grip and durability, a fleece exterior to the back of the hand for comfort and Sealskinz Aquasealz™ technology for breathable waterproof protection.
