What are the Hiker Quarter Midweight Socks?
The clue is in the name; they're quarter-height, mid-weight cushioned socks that are designed to keep your feet looking and feeling great in the outdoors when hiking, backpacking, hill-walking or exploring new trails.
What are they made of?
What makes the Darn Tough socks so different and so durable is the way they are constructed. Every sock is made with an incredibly high loop stitch count, which produces more cushioned loops per square inch than any other sock. Not only does this provide supreme cushioning, but because the loops are so densely packed, they cannot flatten and shear under use.
These socks primarily use merino wool, meaning they're warm, naturally odour-resistant and will wick away sweat during activity. This is mixed with a little Lycra Spandex for added strength and stretch.
How cushioned are they?
These hiking 1/4 socks feature soft terry loops underfoot and targeted protection over the ankle and Achilles, which offers midweight cushioning for comfortable year-round wear.
What are the features?
Created in a quarter-height design, these socks are around 5.5 inches from the heel to the cuff. Their performance fit helps prevent them from slipping down your feet or bunching under your shoes while running for the bus.
They offer midweight padding with versatile terry loop cushioning, providing extra padding over the ankle and Achilles for longer days.
In true Darn Tough style, these lovely socks are still made at their VT-based Mills (Vermont, USA), honouring their brand heritage and ensuring traditional, ethical practices within their manufacturing process.
