What are the Bircham All Weather Ankle Length Socks?
They're soft, waterproof, windproof and breathable ankle socks ideal for various outdoor activities in wet weather, such as mountain biking, trail running, cycling or hiking. Highly versatile and comfortable, they combine soft merino wool with Sealskinz Aquasealz® waterproof technology to deliver reliable all-weather protection.
What are they made from?
The socks utilise Sealskinz Aquasealz™ waterproof membrane to keep your feet comfortable and dry, even when you're working hard. Aquasealz™ is a triple-layer design consisting of a high-performance hydrophilic membrane sandwiched between a durable outer layer and a soft, moisture-wicking inner layer. Unlike traditional hydrophobic membranes, this hydrophilic membrane is made from materials that attract water molecules, allowing them to draw moisture through the membrane much more effectivley, whilst still protecting your feet from wet weather. Allowing moisture vapor from the body to escape to the outside of the socks, keeps you feet dry and comfortable, no matter how hard you’re working.
Sealskinz has lined the socks with soft merino wool to provide next-to-skin comfort and temperature regulation. Merino wool is renowned for its fantastic performance properties, being naturally soft, breathable, fast drying, and odour resistant. It's effective at insulating and regulating temperature – it'll keep you warm during the winter and cool during the summer, making it ideal for year round use.

As previously mentioned, the socks feature Sealskinz Aquasealz™ technology for highly breathable waterproof protection and a soft merino wool lining for next-to-skin comfort. Zonal elastication around the foot provides added support in key areas to help reduce fatigue, whilst strategic padding helps cushion the foot, absorbing shock and reducing pressure through the foot. The socks feature a four-way stretch to enhance the fit and improve the sock's overall comfort level and durability. Finally, they boast an anti-blister construction to prevent friction and rubbing to help eliminate blistering.
