What are the Keb Trousers?
The award-winning Keb Trousers are probably one of Fjallraven's most popular, well-loved products across the globe. They're renowned for being unbelievably durable and super comfy, making them versatile enough for virtually any mountain adventure, whether hiking, scrambling or mountaineering. Now, with an updated shape, they fit better than ever and provide optimum mobility for a myriad of activities.
What are they made of?
The Kebs are primarily made from a lightweight, four-way stretch nylon softshell. This material feels super comfortable, is quick drying and breathable enough to encourage temperature regulation for intense adventures.
Personally, I love how comfy and stretchy this material is; it really sold the Keb's for me, and I know that many of the team here at Trekitt feel the same! It feels incredibly soft but is surprisingly robust, and able to withstand bumps and scrapes in rough mountain terrain. Moreover, even after years of use, the Kebs look barely worn - they really are that durable!
This softshell material is reinforced with Fjallraven's very own G-1000® Eco in high-wear areas, including the thighs, knees, ankles and seat. G-1000® Eco is made using a blend of 65% organic cotton and 35% recycled polyester, a much more eco-friendly alternative to regular G1000®. The combination of these two technical textiles gives you a very hard-wearing and easy to move in pair of trousers - what more could you possibly want?!
What are their features?
Unlike other Fjallraven trousers, the Kebs are not adorned with a shed-load of pockets, but you do get enough storage for the essentials. There are two hand warmer pockets and two thigh pockets; the left has a zipped entry, and the right has an internal pocket to keep small valuables and tools safely tucked away.
There are also two zipped vents on each leg, one at the thigh and one on the calf, which give the Kebs true year-round versatility. Thanks to the two-way zippers, the thigh vents can be opened from the bottom or the top, to suit your preference or activity.
If you're using the Keb's for work, you can insert knee pads to provide further protection and attach braces using the attachment points. Loops at the ends of each leg allow you to attach straps or stirrups, and boot hooks at the bottom help keep the trousers in place, keeping the weather out. These hooks have been designed specially to be easily repaired or removed, improving longevity and overall functionality.
As mentioned, the fit has been updated to be more inclusive and improve freedom of movement and comfort for either day-long or multi-day adventures and expeditions.
