What are the Vidda Pro Trousers?
The Fjallraven Vidda Pro's are, with no exaggeration, legendary in the outdoor world. They're renowned for their almost indestructible fabric, comfortable fit and multitude of pockets and storage options. Use them for mountain walking, trekking, backpacking, bushcraft or even as a pair of work trousers. Almost every member of staff here at Trekitt has a pair and all still look virtually brand new years later.
What are they made of?
They're constructed from Fjallraven's own G-1000 Original fabric, an ultra durable mix of polyester and cotton. This combination gives you the durability of polyester and the comfort of cotton, making them a pleasure to wear. The outer of the fabric has been pre-waxed slightly for wind and water-resistance, however the beauty of this fabric is that it can be unwaxed if you require greater breathability, or waxed even more heavily for improved weather-resistance. The rear and knees has been reinforced with a second layer of fabric to deal with regular abrasion.
What are the features?
Starting with the pockets, you've got two hand pockets, one map pocket, a multitool pocket (which can store an axe!) and an internal phone pocket made from a soft elastic. The larger pockets feature high-quality brass poppers rather than zips as they're more durable in the long term. Can you tell Fjallraven have focused on durability here?
The two layers of fabric on the knees have a gap in between so you can stash a set of kneepads in for work duties (kneepads not included), and the lower leg is adjustable to suit a range of different footwear sizes.
How do they fit?
They feature a mid/high waist and a regular, comfortable fit throughout. They're not slim, they're not baggy, just right in the middle. Pre-shaped knees mean they never feel restrictive.
