What are the Abisko 6" Short Tights?
They’re a shorter version of Fjallraven's popular Abisko Short Tights. They're perfect for those who prefer leggings but find them too hot to wear during summer and want something a little more stylish than knee-length shorts.
Their shorter length makes them ideal to be worn underneath a skirt or dress to prevent chafing in warm weather and provide extra coverage when riding a bicycle on windy days. Though they are shorter, they’re still the ideal length for virtually any outdoor activity, whether hiking, scrambling or backpacking in warmer weather.
What are they made from?
These shorts are made of a double-knitted stretch fabric that comprises a blend of recycled polyester and elastane to provide all the durability, stretch and comfort you need with a lesser, more responsible impact on the planet.
It's lightweight yet durable enough to withstand bumps and scrapes in tougher terrain and, despite being recycled, feels lovely and smooth against the skin. This moisture-wicking material keeps sweat at bay and dries quickly if you were to get caught in a sudden shower. The elastane adds stretch to improve freedom of movement for steep ascents while making them comfy enough to wear casually, day to day, throughout the summer.
Overall, it has a lovely matte finish that looks sophisticated and much more fashionable than the shiny stuff you get with fast-fashion products. They don't stretch thin, so you won't have to worry about accidentally flashing your pants when bending and stretching outdoors!
What are their features?
The comfortable high waistband offers support where you need it and has a nice 'hugging' feel instead of being restrictive. It's extremely low bulk, meaning you could even wear these shorts underneath a skirt for extra coverage. The waistband has an internal draw cord to allow you to create the perfect figure-hugging fit, making these shorts ideal for various body shapes.
Low profile, flatlock seams take the volume away from stitching to prevent rubbing and chafing and generally improve the next-to-skin feel.
A secure leg pocket offers essential storage for small items like a mobile phone or energy gels. The pocket is angled to make it easier to access whilst moving and create a more flattering silhouette.
The inseam for these shorts measures 15cm or 6 inches (Size Small), giving you ample coverage to avoid any uncomfortable chafing and offering a flattering modern style.
