What are the Mid Slim Pants?
The Mid Slim Pants are technical trekking trousers constructed from highly durable, heavy-duty, rugged fabric with stretch. They are a slimmer fitting option than the standard pants from Haglofs and are ideal for those who prefer less bulk, whilst retaining extra stretch where you need it. This makes them not only comfortable but tough enough to explore any terrain in all weather.
What are they made from?
The Mid Slim Pants are primarily made from Haglofs Climatic Rugged stretch fabric, with extremely robust fabric reinforcements across the knees and seat for the optimum balance of durability and freedom of movement.
Climatic Rugged Stretch is a highly durable, double weave fabric with a four-way mechanical stretch for freedom of movement and all-round comfort and flexibility. The material comprises polyamide and elastane, of which 60% is recycled. The tight weave creates effective wind and weather resistance whilst providing a smooth, soft feel against the skin.
Haglofs has used Climatic Rugged Heavy to the knees and seat, which is similar to the trouser's main fabric, but as the name suggests, it’s even more rugged and heavier in weight. Designed to withstand harsh conditions and rough, rocky terrain, this extremely durable fabric will protect high-wear areas in a variety of environments. Climatic Rugged Heavy comprises recycled polyamide and elastane and features a robust mechanical two-way stretch, so it doesn't hinder movement.
Both materials are Bluesign® approved, meaning the material is manufactured in a way that is safe for the environment, workers and consumers. Bluesign® certifications ensure that the materials used avoid harmful substances, use reduced air and water emissions, increase resource productivity, and the production line is more transparent and trustworthy.
The trousers are finished with a PFC-Free DWR (durable water repellent) to provide light water resistance and encourage rain or snow to bead off the trousers instead of soaking in. However, please note, that this doesn't make them waterproof. PFC-free DWRs are much more responsible than regular water-repellent treatments, as they don't use harmful forever chemicals that cause damage to ecosystems and the environment.
What are their features?
The Mid Slim Pants feature an elasticated waist to provide better freedom of movement to help you tackle a tricky scrambling route or steep ascent. The waist is comfortable and high-rise for support and to stop the waistband from digging in throughout the day. The waist also has belt loops for those who prefer wearing a belt and want a little added security that their trousers won't start slipping down halfway through the trail.
Fabric reinforcements can be found across the knees and seat for added durability in high-wear areas, allowing these trousers to hold their own during gnarly adventures in various terrain.
For storage, you'll find two zippered front pockets and one zippered thigh pocket for keeping quick-access items such as snacks, energy gels, a mobile phone and a compass or GPS device close to hand. The thigh pocket features dedicated storage for a mobile phone, helping to keep it out of your way whilst stepping up high and moving dynamically.
The trousers feature a slim fit across the leg to reduce unnecessary material around the ankles, making it easier to see your foot placement during more technical manoeuvres.
