What are the Tenacity XT Pants?
They're incredibly durable, stretchy, and warm outdoor trousers suited to winter mountaineering, alpinism, and exposed mountain trails. With an excellent range of movement, they're thermally efficient and offer reliable protection from the elements whilst being comfy enough to wear for multiple days at a time.
What are they made from?
The Tenacity XT Pants are constructed from a highly durable four-way stretch fabric called Granite Stretch Thermal, composed of 50% Nylon, 42% Polyester and 8% Elastane.
As you may have guessed, Granite Stretch Thermal is super stretchy and thermally efficient, making them ideal for steep ascents and more technical scrambles in cold conditions, where you need a higher range of movement and warm muscles ready for a challenge.
This high-performance face fabric is also highly abrasion, wind-resistant and has been treated with a PFC-Free DWR (durable water repellent) coating for added water resistance, providing reliable protection against the elements and your surroundings.
The instep of the Tenacity XT Pants is reinforced with Schoeller® Keprotec® Kevlar®, which is a super durable blend of Nylon and Aramid (Kevlar) to protect this high-wear area from scuffs and abrasion caused by rocky mountainsides, chunky mountaineering boots and crampons.
What are their features?
The Tenacity XT Pants feature a soft microfleece-lined waistband to help wick moisture away from the skin for lasting comfort. A removable webbing belt also offers flexibility when wearing a climbing harness and ensures you won't end up with your trousers around your ankles. At the front, the zipped fly provides easy access for when nature calls.
For storage, there is a total of four pockets, all with reliable YKK zips for added security.
The two mesh pockets provide space for storing small possessions and also double up as extra ventilation if you're working up a sweat, simply leave them unzipped to allow airflow through the mesh bags.
Whilst the front thigh pocket and rear pocket are more suitable for storing bulkier items like a mobile phone, wallet or GPS device, keeping them out of the way so they don't hinder your movement.
Finally, zipped volume adjusters on the lower legs allow you to cinch in dead space if your trouser leg is flapping in the wind or getting caught on rocks or crampons.
