What are the Terra Stretch Pants?
They're stretchy, durable trousers designed for multi-activity adventures in the mountains, whether a done-in-a-day hike or a longer trip backpacking overseas. The Terra Stretch Pants offer great freedom of movement and comfort with a minimal, figure-hugging design that keeps you looking and feeling great all day.
What are they made of?
The main material used to construct the Terra Stretch Pants is Raptor Flex. It offers a four-way stretch, allowing you to move freely through technical terrain, whilst being lightweight and packable, so even if you're venturing abroad, they won't take up much room in your kit bag. Though light, Raptor Flex is durable enough to withstand bumps and scrapes from regular use in various environments.
Cordura® rip-stop patches are added to the instep, or in simpler terms, the inner ankle. These patches help stop the bottom of your trousers from catching and tearing when wearing crampons or walking over rocky, jagged terrain.
Both materials are coated with a PFC-free DWR (durable water repellent), which enhances water resistance without using chemicals that are harsh to the environment.
What are their features?
These trousers have a traditional zipped fly with a button closure on the front. The waistband comes with a removable webbing belt, which feels comfortable when worn and is flexible enough not to hinder your movement when stretching out or stepping high. Being removable, it's a huge bonus, as you could even wear the belt on a different pair of trousers and use it for casual, everyday outfits.
There are three pockets in total - two hand pockets and one rear. The two hand pockets are mesh lined and sit by the side of your waist, making them much easier to reach. They're ideal for storing smaller items like snacks and energy gels and double up as extra ventilation, thanks to their mesh bags. The zipped rear pocket is much more suitable for bulkier items and valuables like a mobile phone, as it keeps them out of your way and is secured with a reliable zip fastening.
You can open up mesh-lined thigh vents if you need to quickly dump some heat, which is ideal for humid conditions or intense activities.
At the bottom of each leg, there are zip and press-stud ankle adjusters, which allow you to fit these pants around different footwear like trail shoes or chunky mountain boots.
