What are the Ladakh Paclite Plus Pants?
Packable waterproof pants that'll serve you well in unpredictable weather, whether hiking across Mam Tor in the Peaks or trying out a new route around the Lake District. The Ladakh Paclite Plus Pants are super lightweight, packable and waterproof, thanks to their Gore-Tex® construction.
What are they made of?
There's a clue in the name! The Ladakh Paclite Plus Pants are made with reliable 40D 2.5 layer Gore-Tex® Paclite Plus.
Gore-Tex® has engineered their Paclite Plus fabric to be both protective and highly breathable, helping to regulate your temperature and helping to prevent sweat from building up inside.
Paclite Plus is exceptionally thin, packable and lightweight. It doesn't compromise performance (of course, it's Gore-Tex®!) - though light, it's fully waterproof and abrasion resistant, so it can take bumps and scrapes in rugged terrain. This material is also fully windproof, helping to shield you from that nasty wind chill when you find yourself exposed at a higher altitude.
What are their features?
The material's compressibility makes these trousers perfect for stuffing into a daypack or kitbag as a backup layer.
The part-elasticated waist feels extremely comfortable and offers plenty of flexibility where you need it most. It can be adjusted using the integrated internal cord lock adjustment, which is subtle and easy to use.
Surprisingly, these trousers also come with a YKK® front/fly zip which is, of course, handy for answering the call of nature when you need to.
At the sides, 3/4 length two-way YKK® Aquaguard zips make it super easy to slide these pants on over slim walking trousers or tights without having to take off your boots first. Each zip has an internal storm guard and triple pullers that make them easy to get hold of, even with chunky gloves or mitts.
Knee articulation allows you to move much more freely, perfect for steep ascents and technical scrambles, by offering you much more space than regular fitted trousers.
Hems at the bottom are elasticated and have a snap fastener to secure them in place. The snap fasteners also come in handy for ventilation as you can leave the zips open but keep the fasteners closed for a quick heat dump.
All seams are taped accurately to prevent water ingress - it can be easy for rainwater to leak through holes made in the fabric after stitching it together. The taping is refined, neat and not at all bulky, so you won't even notice it's there!
Finally, these trousers are finished with a subtle Rab logo embroidered onto the material.
