What are the Momentum Pants?
They're lightweight, multi-activity trousers designed to keep you comfortable and cool on warm days in the mountains. Super soft, breathable and moisture-wicking, they're so light and comfortable that you'll forget you're even wearing them! With great articulation and a slim fit, they're ideal for those who seek to cover more ground, move faster and minimise weight.
What are they made from?
The Rab Momentum Pants are constructed using a combination of Matrix™ stretch single weave nylon to the legs and Flexile™ 200 to the waistband.
Matrix™ is a specialised line of softshell fabrics selected by Rab for their unique performance qualities. It's wind-resistant, air-permeable and offers excellent levels of breathability. The material also offers UPF protection to shield your skin from sun exposure whilst being exceptionally lightweight and stretchy, for unhindered movement for climbing and scrambling in warm climates. The trousers are lined with smooth recycled polyester fabric for added coverage and increased moisture-wicking capabilities.
Rab has used Flexile™ 200 to create a soft yet supportive knitted waistband designed to contour with the body, moving dynamically with you. Flexile™ 200 comprises polyamide and lycra to create an abrasion-resistant and breathable knit material that is highly durable and moisture-wicking, making it the perfect companion for summers spent exploring the outdoors. The trousers are lined with smooth recycled polyester fabric for added coverage and increased moisture-wicking capabilities, ensuring the world can see the colour of your pants whilst you're bent over reaching inside your backpack.
The Momentum Pants are finished with a fluorocarbon-free durable water repellent (DWR). This water-repellent coating offers light protection against rain showers. However, it doesn't mean the material is fully waterproof. Using a fluorocarbon-free treatment is much more sustainable than regular treatments because they don't use chemicals harmful to the environment.
What are their features?
The Momentum Pants feature an easy pull-on style for reduced weight and bulk around the midsection, improving overall comfort whilst bending down and tackling tricky climbing routes.
A deep stretch waistband keeps you feeling tucked in and secure, which can be altered easily using the drawcord adjustment to optimize the trouser's overall comfort and fit.
For storage, there are two open hand pockets with mesh linings that provide space for your trail essentials. The mesh lining provides additional ventilation to the trousers by allowing fresh air to travel through the pockets - great for exploring warmer climates or working up a sweat during high-intensity activity.
A long-length crotch gusset enables increased mobility and durability by allowing extra stretch to take stress off vital seams, helping to prevent any embarrassing trouser-splitting incidents! Meanwhile, articulated knees allow ease of movement and help improve comfort when bending and stretching.
