What are the Torque Winter Pants?

What are they made from?
The Torque Winter Pants are constructed from Rab's Matrix™ 3-layer softshell fabric, with Matrix™ RX reinforcements in high-wear areas.
Matrix™ is a specialised line of softshell fabrics selected by Rab for their hardworking performance qualities. Matrix™ 3-layer is a soft and stretchy double-weave fabric with a cosy fleece backer for added warmth and next-to-skin comfort. This soft shell fabric is wind-resistant and offers UPF protection to shield you from sun exposure, protecting you from the elements without hindering your range of movement. The material also breathes exceptionally well, to keep you cool while working hard.
Rab has used Matrix™ RX to reinforce the trouser's knees and kick strips on the inside calf for added durability in high-wear areas. Matrix™ RX is highly durable, comfortable, breathable, and tear-resistant, offering tough protection in rugged environments.
The trousers are finished with a fluorocarbon-free durable water repellent (DWR). This coating offers light protection against rain showers, but please note this does not make the material fully waterproof. Using a fluorocarbon-free treatment is more responsible than traditional treatments because they don't use harmful forever chemicals that damage our ecosystems.
What are their features?
The Torque Winter Pants feature a comfortable waistband with hook-and-loop adjustment, double snap waist closure and a YKK® zipped fly. The bonded self-fabric belt loops offer flexibility if you prefer wearing a belt and are low profile, so they don't dig in as you move or get in the way of your climbing harness.
Reinforcements across the knees and inside calf provide added durability in high-wear areas, helping these trousers to withstand years of wear and not start looking shabby after your first couple of trips.
For storage, there are two mesh-lined zipped hand pockets and one zippered thigh pocket, perfect for tucking away small essentials like a mobile phone, GPS, energy gels or snack bars.
Two zipped mesh-lined vents offer quick and easy ventilation should you start to work up a sweat; you'd be surprised how effective they are at cooling you down.
Articulated knees provide better freedom of movement at the joints, while a long-length gusset at the crotch helps prevent trouser-splitting incidents when stepping up high.
The Torque Winter Pants feature Rab's 'regular' fit, meaning they sit close to the leg to reduce the amount of excess material, providing a better line of sight for more technical foot placements, whilst still offering enough space for some airflow around the legs or a pair of long johns underneath.
Finally, at the bottom of each leg, you'll find a hem width adjuster with a YKK® zip and self-fabric gusset that allows the trousers to fit over chunky boots easily.
