What is the Odyssey Jacket?

The Odyssey is a waterproof jacket that combines lesser weight and durability for walking and hiking; it's ideal for adventures in the unpredictable UK weather all year round and makes the perfect go-to shell for general use.

What is it made of?

The Odyssey is made with recycled three-layer Drilite® fabric, which is M.E's proprietary waterproof fabric. No Gore-Tex®? No problem! Drilite® fabric features a hydrophilic polyurethane membrane that provides the ultimate wet weather protection whilst remaining lightweight, breathable and flexible. It also features a solution-dyed backer (a better alternative for the environment) and an FC-free DWR. Drilite® combines years' worth of knowledge and experience, gathered by Mountain Equipment, to provide optimum performance for mountain use.

Materials used to create this product are Fair Wear approved. Fair Wear is a non-profit organisation that promotes fair labour conditions for factory workers worldwide. It works directly with M.E factories to ensure ethical conditions for employees and keeps track of the progress these factories are making to maintain Fair Wear standards.

What are its features?

This jacket comes with a Mountain Hood, smaller than other variations of M.E hoods and designed for less extreme adventures and those where weight is more of a priority.

This jacket is built with an Alpine fit and articulated, pre-shaped sleeves to enhance freedom of movement. It has a two-way zipper on the front, with an internal flap to prevent rain from coming in, even when the zip itself isn't fully fastened - ideal when you need to dump some extra heat.

Adjustable, laminated cuffs and dual-tether hem drawcords offer versatility and durability for rugged environments.

Two zipped pockets are ideal for storing small essentials such as a mobile phone, GPS device, snacks and energy gels.

For ventilation, there are pit zips under each arm to get a little extra airflow without exposing yourself to the elements. All zips on the jacket are water-resistant YKK® zips, meaning no rain or snow will seep through the teeth, keeping you 100% dry throughout the day.
