What is the Creston AR Pant?
The Creston is a warm, comfortable and weather-resistant softshell trouser designed primarily for trekking and general walking. The tough Wee Burly fabric and soft brushed lining make them ideal for cooler conditions where comfort and protection take priority.
What are they made of?
The Creston's are made from Arc'teryx's own Wee Burly Double Weave fabric, a super tough yet comfortable mix of nylon, polyester and elastane. Basically, it's a standard softshell fabric taken a step further. A durable water repellent coating has been applied to repel light rain and snow. Please note, this doesn't make the trousers fully waterproof.
What makes these trousers great for cold winter use isn't just the tough outer though — inside, a brushed lining adds valuable warmth and comfort next to skin.
What are the Creston's features?
Starting at the top, a low-profile stretchy waistband keeps the trousers secure and comfortable; belt loops are in place if you need further adjustment. Low-profile seams reduce the chance of chafing and seams in high-wear areas are taped for added weather-protection and durability. Storage-wise, there are two open hand pockets, one zipped right thigh pocket and one zipped rear pocket — more than enough space for all the usual bits and bobs.
How do they fit?
They feature a trim fit with a straight leg. This means they'll keep you warmer more quickly than a looser fitting trouser, yet the stretchy outer fabric and technical articulation mean you're not restricted.
