What is the Jacket Stuff Sack?
It's a versatile stuff sack that helps you compress and stash your insulated jacket or vest in your backpack easily. However, it isn't only suitable for reducing insulation pack size but also great for organising various gear in your rucksack for multi-day adventures and travelling.
What is it made from?
In 2023, Rab conducted a survey and discovered that many of their customers where not using the stuff sacks that used to come included with all their insulated jackets. Going forward, most models will not come with an included stuff sack. Instead, if you need one, they are available to be purchased separately and are now created from offcut materials and end of roll fabrics, for an even lower environmental impact. Rab has estimated that this will potentially save around 300,000 metres of cord and tape, 101,560m2 of fabric and 550kg of plastic trims from being used to create unused stuff sacks. This simple yet effective change highlights Rab's dedication to continuously improving their manufacturing processes to more responsible practices.
What are its features?
It features a drawcord closure to allow you to easily compress the jacket, a binding loop to allow you to clip on a carabiner to attach it to other items of gear or belt loops. A Rab branded logo to the front finishes the design.
The small stuff sack is designed for packing down lightweight insulation layers. However please note, we do not recommend storing down or synthetic insulated jackets and layers in stuff sacks for extended periods of time, as this extended compression could impact the insulation's ability to fully loft (fluff up).
