What are they made of?
The Cressida Cork Lite poles are made from strong and lightweight HTS 6.5 aluminium. This material is durable enough to handle rough conditions without adding unnecessary weight, so you can trust that the poles won't give out on you when you need them most.
The grips are covered with genuine cork, known for its moisture-absorbing properties. The cork provides a comfortable, secure hold even in sweaty or wet conditions and reduces vibrations, making these poles perfect for long hikes or trekking over rough terrain.
The Flex Tips, made from carbide, are built to tackle various terrains and activities, making them incredibly versatile. Because carbide is more durable than steel, these tips hold up well across different environments without wearing down quickly.
They provide excellent grip and stability on rocky or uneven trails. They dig into gravel or loose dirt for traction and help prevent slips in mud or wet conditions. They securely grip hard surfaces on icy or snowy paths, offering stability.
What are their features?
The Leki Makalu Cork Lite poles come with a telescopic design, which allows the poles to be adjusted from 100 to 135 cm. You can tailor the length of the poles to fit your height or adapt to different terrains. For example, you might want to shorten them on uphill climbs to gain better leverage or extend them on downhill sections for added stability.
The Speed Lock Plus system makes these adjustments quick and effortless, even on the go. With a simple flick, you can set the poles to your preferred length, ensuring they're always in the right setting for the conditions you're facing.
The integrated positive angle in the grip is a design feature that aligns your wrist in a more ergonomic position. This slight angle helps guide the poles more naturally as you walk, reducing wrist strain and ensuring smoother movements. It is handy during long hikes or climbs when your wrists are more likely to tire.
The Lock Security Strap Skin 4.0 adds both stability and safety to your trekking experience. This wrist strap keeps the poles securely attached to your hands, so you don't have to grip them too tightly, reducing hand fatigue. At the same time, the strap allows for flexibility and movement, meaning you can shift your hand position without losing control of the poles.
Despite their sturdiness, these poles are impressively lightweight. Each pole weighs just 254 g, making a big difference when trekking for long hours. The lightweight feel comes from the three-segment design and slim tube diameter, which keeps the weight down and adds to the poles' packability. These poles are easy to carry or stow away when not in use, yet they remain strong and durable, handling rugged terrain with ease.
