What are the Solution Comp climbing shoes?
These are competition-level climbing shoes designed for higher-level climbing and advanced athletes looking to maximise their performance. They are made with a strategic construction to allow for more precision and comfort when toe/heel hooking, diversifying their capabilities on the wall.
What are they made of?
Upper: The upper of these shoes combines suede leather and a microfibre, tubular construction for increased durability against abrasive surfaces. These fabrics also allow for a light level of flexibility to increase dexterity and mobility.
Lining: The lining features a pacific toe with a jersey stretch tongue, which feels soft against the skin. This precise and stretchy sock liner makes these shoes ideal for indoor use, whether training on the comp wall or doing the real thing.
Midsole: The midsole has Hytrel anatomical support of the metatarsal, combined with La Sportiva's P3 system™. The P3 (Permanent Power Platform) system™ is a patented system that helps the shoes retain their downturned shape, no matter how much you wear them, allowing for perfect tension distribution.
Sole: A Vibram® XS Grip 2 rubber sole provides grip, precision and flexibility where needed. The side heel rubber is also 100% recycled to reduce the shoes' environmental impact. After years of use, if they look a little worse for wear, these shoes can be resoled, making them as good as new without having to fork out for a new pair and put your old ones into landfill.
What are their features?
La Sportiva's Fast Lacing System™ ensures a perfect fit every time, enabling the shoes to wrap around the foot closely. Combined with the Lock-Harness™ system, which provides maximum support and grip during heel hooks, you can close the shoes quickly and easily, minimising faff time so that you can get on the wall.
Tighter volume in the heel allows for better precision when heel hooking on smaller holds. Plus, the rubber toe cap has increased coverage to facilitate toe hooks, providing ample protection for various movements.
Generally, these shoes are ideal for competition climbing, lead climbing and bouldering indoors. However, they may be less suitable on multi-pitch routes, especially outside.
