What are the Vapour S Climbing Shoes?
The Vapour S are advanced rock climbing shoes with an instant, adaptable fit. They offer precision on small edges and sensitivity to feel your toe placement on each move accurately. The Vapour S Shoes are best suited to bouldering and indoor climbing, yet they work well for sport and all-day trad climbs, making them great multi-sport shoes.
What are they made of?
The upper part of the shoes combines multiple pieces of microfibre material with individual seams that do not overlap to ensure low bulk and comfort for all-day wear. Microfibre is incredibly durable, so it can easily withstand abrasion on rock and indoor walls. The upper is fitted with an elastic gusset for enhanced movement and flexibility without compromising fit, allowing the shoe to hold the feet securely without restriction.
M50 rubber is used strategically throughout the design, in parts such as the toe patches and segments of the upper. M50 is Scarpa's softest rubber compound. It offers premium levels of adaptability to the foot's shape, allowing these shoes to mould to your feet over time for a better fit.
Vibram XS Grip 2 soles, used by many bouldering world champions, deliver measurably improved grip. They have a particular level of firmness that works perfectly for edging and sloped holds without losing performance in certain temperatures/climates. Vibram XS Grip 2 is the answer if you're seeking maximum grip.
What are the features?
The Vapour S Shoes are designed with a classic shape and narrow fit.
A Bi-Tension Active Randing system runs underneath the toes and draws back through the foot arch. This system provides excellent flexibility with subtle tension to ensure you don't lose support altogether.
The Nano Strap system allows you to customise the fit of the Vapour S shoes using three different closure modes, including 'Slipper Mode', 'Fast Mode' and 'Strong Mode'.
Slipper Mode - Nope, this one isn't for bedtime. Slipper Mode is the most relaxed mode, allowing a little extra room for the foot to breathe.
Fast Mode - Fast Mode provides more instep adhesion, ideal for those looking to climb against the clock.
Strong Mode - This mode provides ultimate support by closing tight around the ankle and gripping the foot more firmly.
You'll be glad to know that these shoes can also be resoled. So, even if the bottom looks a little worse for wear, you can get them fixed up in no time, making them last even longer!
