What is the Skuta?
The Skuta is a wide-fitting hiking/trekking boot with an eye on sustainability. It's supportive, tough, protective and most importantly, comfortable for those who like a little extra wiggle room.
How is it constructed?
Upper:The uppers are made of a mixture of suede and tough rubber reinforcements. The suede is sourced from an LWG-audited (leather working group) tannery whereby a rigorous checklist has to be abided by to ensure the leather is sourced, processed and sold in a sustainable manner. This leather is tough, abrasion-resistant and long-lasting; ideal for areas of the boot that'll take a bit of a beating. Rubber is used throughout the lower half of the boot for additional abrasion-resistance.
Membrane: Underneath this, you've got a fluorocarbon-free Proof Eco membrane, providing total waterproof protection for winter outings.
Midsole: A moulded EVA midsole provides good cushioning and support, especially when wearing a pack with a little weight inside. Along with this, Haglofs have placed gel in the heel to increase cushioning and comfort.
Outsole: Finally, you've got a grippy, long-lasting sole unit with a good heel-break to dig into loose terrain. AHAR (made by Asics) rubber has been used on the outer heel to increase durability.
What are its features?
Both the toe and heel have additional suede reinforcements for even more abrasion resistance and a handy tongue gusset prevents water and sand from entering the boot.
