What are the Alnasca Knit III Low GTX?
The Alnasca Knit III Low GTX Shoes are durable, approach shoes with reliable Gore-Tex® waterproof technology. They're super versatile and durable and provide sufficient cushioning and grip on hard ground, making them ideal for walk-ins, light rock climbing, Via Ferrata or even for crossing Alpine terrain.
What are they made of?
Upper: A 3D knit material on the upper provides durability and abrasion resistance to withstand the rigour of mountain activities without being excessively bulky. It also offers ample breathability to help regulate temperature and prevent sweat build-up inside the shoe.
Lining: A Gore-Tex® lining provides full waterproof capabilities for activities when the conditions are less than ideal. Though waterproof, this membrane still allows sweat vapour to escape, leaving your feet fresh and dry to help prevent the formation of blisters.
Sole: A Vibram® Flextron sole enhances precision underfoot, helping to navigate rocky terrain when climbing and scrambling more accurately, whilst providing enough cushioning to help alleviate pressure. The Flextron sole uses strategically placed materials to offer flexibility where needed most, allowing your foot to move more naturally and encouraging a more even weight distribution. Multi-directional lugs provide grip in wet and slippery conditions, while a deeper heel increases confidence on the descent.
Mammut also works with FairWear to ensure safe, ethical working conditions in their factories, helping to protect workers' rights and being considerate and responsible with their processes.
What are their features?
Base Fit technology is built into the shoe, where sliding webbing transfers power from the lacing area down to the soles. This technology ensures a better foothold within the shoe, increasing comfort and safety as the foot won't feel loose inside.
The elastic, knitted sock construction provides extra protection around the ankles and helps keep loose rock, scree and debris at bay.
An abrasion-resistant, 3D-shaped element offers 360 support to the heel while helping to prevent the ankle from twisting unnaturally, alleviating the risk of injury.
A TPU heel stabiliser does exactly what it says on the tin - it stabilises the heel and gives you a little more precision with every step.
An anatomically shaped footbed enhances the shoe's fit to increase comfort even further - great for longer days at the crag!
