What are the Meindl Top Trail GTX Shoes?
Meet the Meindl Top Trail GTX. These versatile shoes blend functionality, comfort, and durability, catering not only to various outdoor sports but also to leisure, travel, and everyday wear, making them a well-rounded choice for any adventure that comes your way.
What are they made from?
The Meindl Top Trail GTX Shoes are designed with uppers that combine suede and mesh materials. This combination offers a balanced blend of durability and breathability.
The suede provides robustness and resistance to abrasions, making it suitable for rugged outdoor environments where the shoes might encounter rocks, branches, or rough terrain.
Meanwhile, the mesh allows for excellent breathability, ensuring that air can circulate inside the shoe, which is essential for preventing overheating and moisture buildup during physical activities.
To enhance the overall durability and longevity, Meindl incorporated a hand applied rubber rand in the toe areas of these shoes. It provides defence against impacts and abrasions, helping the shoes withstand the rigours of outdoor activities like hiking and trail running.
These shoes are lined with GORE-TEX, waterproof and breathable membrane technology. GORE-TEX acts as a waterproof barrier, preventing external moisture, such as rain or puddles, from penetrating the shoe while allowing moisture vapour, like sweat, to escape from the inside part of the shoe.
These shoes also include an Air-Active footbed, which pulls moisture away from the foot, creating a good foot climate as you walk. They also feature memory foam, offering comfort and shock absorbency. When your feet contact the ground, especially on uneven terrain or rocky trails, the memory foam compresses and then gradually returns to its original shape. This process dissipates the shock forces generated during each step, reducing the impact on your feet, ankles, and lower joints.
The Meindl Multigrip G5 Hiking Rubber grip sole and an EVA soft step wedge provide excellent traction and comfort in this outdoor footwear. Meindl's Multigrip soles are renowned for three key attributes. Firstly, the forward-projecting cleat at the front of the heel delivers great grip, ensuring stability and confidence on challenging terrains. Secondly, the open-angle tread design allows the sole to efficiently self-clean as you walk, preventing debris buildup and maintaining consistent traction even in muddy or rugged conditions. Lastly, strategically placed cleats at the centre of the sole ensure a multi-directional grip, promoting stability and confidence during various movements.
What are its features?
These shoes are designed as light and functional models, weighing approximately 410g per shoe. They come equipped with the Variofix Lacing System, which ensures a perfect fit.
The Variofix provides excellent heel security, enhancing stability and support. When you lace up these shoes, the free-running wire, often called the 'speed wire,' snugly and evenly wraps around the heel. This lacing system not only contributes to an improved fit but also boosts overall stability, ensuring your feet are well-supported during your outdoor pursuits.
Additionally, the shoes feature a soft upper cuff. The plush softness of the upper cuff creates a gentle and secure interface with your ankles, allowing you to move freely and confidently.
Meindl Boot Care
The most important thing you can do for your boots is to look after them. After your walk, remove the footbeds to air and remove loose dirt and grit from inside the boot. To improve the odour and breathability of your boots, rinse them inside with lukewarm water occasionally. Clean the outside of the boot under cold running water using a brush.
Leather and Nubuck footwear benefit from regular waxing. Apply Meindl Sportwax with a sponge.
