What is the Lite Trail GTX?
The Lite Trail GTX is a lightweight, breathable, fully waterproof shoe for year-round walking here in the UK. Despite its technical intentions, the subtle styling means it can just as easily be used for everyday wear around town.
What is it made of?
Starting from the outside and moving our way in, the Lite Trail features a suede leather and mesh outer, providing high levels of abrasion resistance and breathability. This tough suede is reinforced around the toe with thick rubber to deal with knocks and bumps along the trail. Underneath these fabrics lies a fully waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex membrane, keeping your feet dry and protected in our typically wet and boggy UK conditions. Meindl's own Air-Active footbed provides a comfortable surface for your foot to sit on and features small ventilation holes to increase breathability.
Keeping you firmly planted is Meindls own Lite Trail rubber grip sole with an EVA shock absorber. This sole perfectly balances durability and grip, whether you're walking in the slop or on dry, hardpacked gravel.
Meindl Boot Care
The most important thing you can do for your boots is to look after them. After your walk, remove the footbeds to air and remove loose dirt and grit from inside the boot. To improve the odour and breathability of your boots, rinse them inside with lukewarm water occasionally. Clean the outside of the boot under cold running water using a brush.
Leather and Nubuck footwear benefit from regular waxing. Apply Meindl Sportwax with a sponge.
What are its features?
There are two eyelets at the top of the shoe to allow you to customize the fit depending on the width of your foot and what you find comfortable. The lacing spans all the way down to the toe area, giving you further stability and customization.
