What are the Rush 2 Pro Mid GTX?
They’re mid-cut versions of Scarpa’s Rush 2 Pro GTX walking shoes, delivering ample protection, stability, and support for navigating uneven or rocky terrain when hiking or hill walking. These shoes also offer complete waterproof protection, thanks to their Gore-Tex® ePE membrane.
What are they made of?
These shoes use a PFC-free nubuck leather and mesh upper for durability, abrasion resistance, and breathability with less weight and bulk.
They also feature waterproof Gore-Tex® ePE. This updated, bluesign® approved Gore® material uses an ePE membrane, a key milestone in the leading brand's responsible performance journey. If you were wondering, ePE stands for expanded polyethene, which is light, thin yet durable, and PFC-free.
If you're familiar with Trekitt descriptions, you may have seen that 'PFC-free' phrase floating around before. PFCs are per or poly-fluorinated chemicals, aka 'forever chemicals' that stay permanently in the environment and cause lasting damage to our ecosystems. Many companies are working towards a completely PFC-free future, so this is quite a breakthrough for the Gore-Tex® brand! In addition, this membrane has a reduced carbon footprint, as it uses laminates with a lower-mass membrane and select textiles, making it an ideal choice for more environmentally conscious adventurers.
bluesign® approved means it's manufactured in a way that is safe for the environment, workers and consumers. bluesign® certifications ensure that the materials used avoid harmful substances, use reduced air and water emissions, increase resource productivity, and the production line is more transparent and trustworthy.
An EVA midsole provides underfoot support and helps to absorb impact.
A Presa® sole delivers ample grip and traction on various terrain and solid ground, while the rigid TPU heel structure helps to enhance stability.
What are their features?
A mid-height provides a little extra protection and support for the ankles, especially when walking over rocky or uneven surfaces.
