What are the Prodigio shoes?
They're technical running shoes designed to meet the needs of demanding runners and dedicated athletes, whether trail running, mountain marathon training or competing in an ultramarathon.
What are they made of?
Upper: The upper is made of recycled, synthetic HT lightweight knit material that provides optimum breathability for minimal weight. The material is fast-drying to ensure minimum sweat buildup and maximum temperature regulation. It's reinforced by the wraparound foot cage that helps the shoes keep their shape and structure without adding excessive grams.
Lining: The lining is an anti-abrasion mesh made of recycled material, which is durable enough to withstand heavy use and regular, long-distance missions. It provides ample breathability, which, when combined with the permeable upper, provides maximum comfort for working hard over extended routes or when training for more than a few hours.
Midsole: An XFlow™ midsole is infused with 'super foam' that ensures optimal cushioning, reactivity and stability. It absorbs the force of impact from each step to return a rapid response, boosting energy and helping to increase your speed the longer you run. XFlow™ is specially designed and developed to guarantee a higher level of performance for athletes, including even the most demanding trail runners, by giving 18.5% more rebound (compared to the traditional expanding EVA currently used on the market). They're also 18% lighter and provide 15% more cushioning.
Footbed: An Ortholite® Hybrid Mountain Running® ergonomic 4mm footbed provides underfoot comfort without costing the Earth - quite literally! It's made with recycled rubber, waste foam and open-cell foam, which cuts down on the use of petroleum and energy within the manufacturing process, alongside minimising the amount of waste that reaches landfills. Though more eco-friendly, the footbed doesn't compromise performance and still feels comfortable to wear for fast-paced pursuits.
Sole: The Bi-compound FriXion® Red sole features a dual mix compound that combines grip and durability with shock absorption. La Sportiva FriXion® comes from extensive research and development that aims to create outsoles with grip and durability that respond to various uses and terrain, making it ideal for longer-distance running where you'll be covering a variety of ground.
What are their features?
The Prodigio shoes are made with a wrapping system, ergonomic heel and wider toe box to increase comfort, protection and stability, even when your feet start to swell when covering multiple miles. They have a wrapping system designed to encase and secure the foot to stop it from moving and wobbling around inside.
A progressive rocker follows the foot in the roll and stance phase, allowing it to move more naturally and giving your feet a more prominent bounce to assist performance. Stability is also enhanced, thanks to the broader footbed, which provides more contact on the ground.
Laces are 100% recycled, helping to reduce environmental impact.
