What are the Alverstone II GTX Boots?
They're lightweight, durable boots for trekking in challenging terrain and tackling ambitious mountain summits. They have a specialised construction to promote stability and performance, keeping you comfy and well protected for the challenges ahead.
What are they made of?
The upper of the Alverstone II GTX uses suede and Microfibre that feels solid and protective around the foot yet provides enough softness and flexibility for steep climbs. They are highly durable to last years of abuse from rocks and tricky terrain without the extra weight and bulk of less technical footwear.
The Gore-Tex® membrane and lining offer maximum waterproof protection, making them suitable for any weather. Gore-Tex® also provides a high level of breathability, so even if you're working up a sweat, these boots should help to keep your feet fresh and dry throughout the day.
The outer sole has a TPU shank to promote torsional stability from the heel to the middle of the foot, and lightweight PU cushioning to help absorb impact, increasing underfoot comfort.
What are their features?
These boots are made with an innovative LFX (Lateral Flex) construction that promotes flexion and helps to protect the joints.
The Integral Light sole has a lower stack height to keep your feet closer to the ground for more balance and stability.
3D PrismBase technology in the outsole uses a specialised rubber base structure, designed almost like a prism, to reduce the overall weight by up to 32%! It has a light but aggressive tread that guarantees fantastic grip on various types of terrain, made with a tried-and-tested Vibram® rubber compound.
The high ankle cuff is suited explicitly for the fit and movement of female feet. It gives you better flexion around the ankles while providing plenty of support to help keep you upright. Handy if you're, like me, extremely clumsy!
They have a classic lace-up fastening on the front that uses Click Clamp eyelets, allowing two-zone lacing. They loop easily for easy opening, so minimal faff is required when putting these bad boys on, or taking them off.
