What is the Greenland Jacket?
The iconic Greenland Jacket is a water and wind resistant jacket built with long-lasting G1000® Eco. It has a functional construction that feels comfy and looks fantastic - perfect for everyday outdoor activities, country lifestyles or even heading down to the pub with your mates.
What is it made of?
This timeless piece is built using Fjallraven's very own G1000® Eco.
G1000® Eco uses a blend of 65% recycled polyester and 35% cotton, which is ventilating, hardwearing and weather resistant. The material is what makes this jacket so versatile, it suits a variety of climates and conditions while feeling comfortable enough to wear all day long, and can be further adapted to suit specific weather or activities.
In fact, most G1000® materials' can be altered by using Greenland Wax! This magical wax allows you to customise the fabric's properties, such as wind and water resistance and breathability.
Greenland Wax is easy to apply - you can literally do it anywhere! If you'd like to learn more about how to apply it correctly, check out our short YouTube tutorial by clicking here.
What are its features?
This jacket has a well-fitted, fixed hood that still provides space to layer a hoody or beanie underneath.
Two different fastenings at the front of the jacket give you various options on how to wear it. A two-way zipper allows you to ventilate from the top or bottom of the jacket without having to undo the whole zip. If that doesn't tickle your fancy, you can use the protective buttoned flap that sits over the zip, almost like a storm guard, to keep the jacket in place while drawing in extra airflow. Alternatively, when conditions are harsh, fasten both for maximum protection and weather resistance.
There are two buttoned chest pockets and two large bellows pockets, big enough to fit a wallet, mobile phone, GPS or a ton of snacks for long days with mother nature. The bellowed pockets are secured with buttoned flaps at the top and zippered openings at the side.
Double layers of fabric are placed on the shoulders and elbows for reinforcement, helping to reduce wear if you're wearing a pack or from general, everyday use.
Suppose you're wearing gloves or a few layers underneath the jacket. In that case, the cuffs can be adjusted to fit nicely over the top with the press button adjustments. There's also a drawcord adjustment at the hem, allowing you to cinch the bottom of the jacket in for increased weather protection and heat retention for cold, winter days.
