What is the Abisko Hike Anorak?
It's a lightweight anorak for hiking and trekking between spring and summer. The Abisko Hike Anorak is incredibly breathable to keep you comfortable on humid adventures when you need some coverage from the sun or sudden showers, and robust enough to withstand a beating in rugged terrain.
What is it made of?
This anorak is made with G1000® Air Stretch fabric, which is lightweight and flexible. G1000® Air Stretch comprises a blend of recycled polyester and organic cotton, which is durable and smooth against the skin, should you be wearing a vest or tee underneath.
G1000® materials can also be adapted using Fjallraven Greenland Wax to enhance water resistance if the weather looks wet or showery. Although please note that the more you apply to the material, the less breathable it will be. What are its features?
To be clear, this product is water resistant, which doesn't mean it's fully waterproof! So if the forecast predicts heavy rain, make sure you pack a shell jacket in your rucksack.
The high, fold-down collar gives you sufficient neck protection, handy if you've forgotten your suncream or if it's blowing a hooley above the treeline. It has a half-length opening at the front with a button fastening, allowing you to ventilate the jacket nicely if you're sweating.
Speaking of ventilation, there's also a ventilated rear yoke with a mesh lining that helps draw in extra airflow around the back.
Drawcords on each side allow you to enhance the length of the jacket, giving you additional control over airflow if you need to dump heat quickly.
Finally, another drawcord at the hem allows you to cinch in the bottom of the jacket if you want to keep the breeze out as you get closer to the summit.
