What is the Rab Deep Cover Parka?
The Rab Deep Cover Parka, but not as you remember it! This season this fantastic down parka is made from almost entirely recycled materials. It’s the ultimate warm and cosycasual longer length winter coat. It will keep out the winter chills on those days when you'd rather stay indoors but have just got to get outside.
What is it made of?
Insulation:Rab have created a longer length winter parka that is stuffed with 340g of 700FP recycled R.D.S (Responsible Down Standard) Certified Down. As well as providing superb insulation all that high quality down has been treated to a special Hydrophobic process that was developed by Rab and Nikwax, basically each and every cluster of down is treated with special fluorocarbon freeNikwax product to make them perform better in damp conditions. Although the Deep Cover is not completely waterproof the Hydrophobic down filling dries much faster, absorbs less water and retains loft far better than untreated down.
Fabric:To cope with the abuse and the rigours of daily life the Deep Cover Parka is covered with a tough 50D recycled Pertex Quantum outer. It’s lightweight, breathable and exceptionally soft to the touch. It is then coated in a fluorocarbon-free DWR treatment to help bead water off the jacket. Whilst this doesn’t make the jacket waterproof, it does help protect the down from light showers. On the inside of the jacket there’s an incredibly soft 20D recycled nylon lining. The lining feels exceptionally soft next to skin so can be worn with short sleeve or long sleeve tops.
What are the features?
The removable hood provides additional protection when it gets really nasty out there and the faux fur trim can also be removed. You get two concealed zipped hand pockets, a secure zipped internal pocket and an attractive Metaluxe YKKmain zip. Another really nice feature is the stretch inner cuffs that act to seal out drafts and keep your wrists nice and warm.
How does it fit?
The Deep Cover Parka uses Rabs 'Regular Fit'. We feel that Rab have absolutely nailed this fit for women! It's slightly less tapered in the waist than their 'Slim Fit' so suit quite a wide range of body types. It also gives you enough wiggle room to comfortably fit an extra layer on underneath it without restricting your movement. The centre back length of this toasty Parka is 90cm, so it will provide plenty of well insulated protection when its cold and nasty outside.
