What is the High Coast Wind Jacket?
The High Coast Wind Jacket is a lightweight, wind and water resistant outer layer which is perfect for blocking out the wind in warmer climates. It also works just as well as a protective barrier against the wind and rain when moving fast in the mountains during colder seasons.
What is it made from?
Fjallraven use their tried and tested HC-Lite fabric throughout the Jacket, providing a lightweight, packable and highly breathable layer when you need a little more protection than just a t-shirt, but don't need the protection of a full hardshell. If the clouds do open, this fabric also dries exceptionally quickly. Despite its lightweight nature, this HC-Lite will put up with its fair share of abuse thanks to the primarily nylon-based contents of the fabric.
What are the features?
Features wise, you get a lightweight, adjustable hood to trap warm air inside or just to keep your head dry, a vertical chest pocket for a phone or other quick to access items, two hand pockets, elasticated cuffs and an adjustable hem to improve the overall fit.
How does it fit?
This Jacket is neither a slim or a baggy fit; it features enough room to layer underneath on colder days, yet doens't have excess material that will flap around in the wind. The length is nice and long in the body and sleeves for greater protection.
Where would this fit in the layering system?
This Jacket will work perfectly as an outer layer over just a t-shirt in warm conditions, over an insulating layer when moving quickly in colder conditions, or under a synthetically insulated jacket when you stop for lunch and require some extra warmth without letting the heat out.
