What is the Abisko Midsummer Jacket?
The Abisko Midsummer Jacket is a comfortable and versatile softshell jacket designed to provide light wind protection when trekking and travelling in warm, unpredictable weather. Highly packable and stylish, it's also a great casual jacket for commuting and everyday wear throughout the shoulder seasons.
What is it made from?
The Abisko Midsummer Jacket features a hybrid construction comprising G-1000 Air Stretch and stretchy recycled polyester for optimum airflow and comfort in warm conditions.
The front and back of the jacket use stretchy recycled polyester for freedom of movement when trekking, meaning the jacket doesn't feel tight or restrictive when moving dynamically. Being recycled, it’s a more eco-conscious choice than virgin polyester, which is just as long-lasting, moisture-wicking and functional.
G1000® Air Stretch is used throughout the hood, shoulders and part of the sleeves, its mechanical stretch improves freedom of movement for navigating tricky terrain and steep ascents while enhancing comfort for everyday wear.
G1000® Air Stretch is one of Fjallraven's cornerstone materials which comprises recycled polyester and organic cotton. It has an incredibly smooth finish that is pleasant against the skin, whilst being light and airy to help regulate temperature.
G1000® materials can be adapted to different personal preferences or climatic conditions using Greenland Wax. The wax allows you to customise the fabric's properties, such as wind and water resistance and breathability.

What are its features?
Starting at the top, you've got an adjustable, well-fitting hood, offering protection from the elements. A simple front central zip lets you quickly dump heat when hiking in warmer climates or when you're working hard. The stretchy fabric on the back, front, and under-arm gussets ensures a great fit whilst also maximising freedom of movement, comfort and breathability.
For storage, there are two zippered hand pockets and a chest pocket that offer plenty of space for storing trail snacks and a mobile phone. All the pockets feature concealed zips and mesh lining for added ventilation. Simply open up the zips to increase the airflow inside the jacket to stop you from overheating when you're working hard.
The cuffs feature elastic edging for a comfortable fit, allowing you to easily pull up the sleeves to expose your wrists and dump additional body heat quickly. Finally, the jacket is finished with a drawcord adjustment to the bottom hem to help seal out drafts. It also helps stop the annoying feeling of your jacket riding up when hiking with a backpack.
