What is the Frontier Jacket?
The Frontier Jacket is a highly breathable softshell that's perfect for long days in the mountains. It will help shrug off the worst of the weather whilst allowing you to effectively dump excess heat when you're working hard.
What is the Frontier made of?
The Frontier uses Exolite 210 stretch double weave Soft Shell fabric that breathes exceptionally well and shrugs off most of the bad weather. It is incredibly stretchy, allowing for full mobility when climbing or scrambling, and also offers excellent abrasion resistance to keep you protected no matter your adventure.
What are the features?
The Frontier has a fully adjustable mountain hood that fits well over a helmet. When not in use, you can cinch it down to remove excess volume.
The jacket features three pockets, including two external hand pockets and an internal security pocket, all zipped and out of the way of the harness/hipbelt line. It also has a dual tether hem drawcord and velcro adjustable cuffs to seal out cold updrafts.
How does the Frontier Fit?
The Frontier fits into Mountain Equipment's 'Alpine Fit' block, which is designed to be close-fitting but still able to accommodate a few layers underneath.
Where does the Frontier fit in the layering system?
The Frontier is a mid-weight softshell designed to be worn as an outer layer on windy, dry days. It also provides some protection from a light shower (and dries quickly) and can be worn under a shell when the weather turns bad.
