What is the Roc Blanc Jacket?
The Roc Blanc Jacket is a minimal Alpinist Jacket designed for burly alpine expeditions and ski-touring adventures. It has a lightweight, low bulk Gore-Tex® construction that offers maximum protection and durability to get you through whatever challenge the mountains face you with.
What is it made of?
This jacket comprises Gore-Tex® Pro 3L with a woven ripstop backer for reinforcement and polyamide membrane. The materials are bluesign® approved, and Oeko-Tex certified, ensuring they're much more planet friendly than conventional shell jackets.
Gore-Tex® Pro 3L is a three-layer fabric that provides maximum waterproof protection, with the classic Gore-Tex® Guaranteed to keep you dry™ promise. Whilst fully protective, it's highly breathable to encourage optimum temperature regulation and less sweat accumulation overall, and it doesn't even stop there! Gore-Tex® Pro is completely windproof, protecting you from harsh gusts on exposed routes, and rugged enough to take on extreme environments.
The main materials are treated with PFOA-free durable water repellent for reinforced weather protection, and ripstop backer is solution-dyed, which are both much kinder to the environment.
What are the features?
The Roc Blanc has a helmet compatible hood that is fully adjustable, allowing you to optimise the fit according to your layering system and whether you're wearing your hard hat. You can adjust it with the front puller separated from the release pull, allowing you to pull it tighter with just one hand. The hood is peaked just above the forehead with metal thread and sheet adhesive for reinforced weather protection.
A water repellent zipper fastening at the front of the jacket uses a two-way YKK® Vislon zip and has a storm flap behind to help keep the weather out further. The two-way zip is perfect for harness compatibility. It allows you to unzip the bottom half of the jacket for harness access without entirely undoing the fastening. Alternatively, it's handy if you need to quickly dump some heat but don't want to take the jacket off and expose yourself to the elements.
There's also tilted front ventilation designed for better accessibility and efficient performance even when carrying a backpack, so you won't have to worry about your straps hindering their performance.
The two chest pockets use the same YKK® Vislon and are perfect for stowing essentials like a GPS device or energy gels. Alternatively, there are two inner pockets if you want to keep belongings more secure - one smaller for valuables and a larger pocket for bulky items like maps.
The sleeves are articulated around the elbows to improve freedom of movement. On the lower left sleeve, there's a handy ski-pass pocket with a zipper to give you quick, easy access if you're heading onto the slopes. Cuffs are also adjustable, allowing you to optimise the fit to your layering system or if you're wearing gloves.
Finally, at the hem, there's another single-handed adjuster if you want to pull in the hem and help retain heat while keeping the weather out.
