Mountain Equipment Tupilak 50-75 Backpack Magma

Season:2024W R

Brand:Mountain Equipment

Code:004415-01415

What is the Tupilak 50-75?

It's a versatile, technical backpack that can accommodate 50 to 75 litres of storage. The Tupilak has removable features to suit adventures where you're counting every gram and is ideal for alpinism, climbing and mountaineering.

What is it made of?

This backpack is made of a mixture of PACT™ 300 and 100 fabrics. PACT™ offers fantastic durability for its weight and is robust enough to withstand regular use in mountain terrain. The material is also water resistant, making it perfect for the unpredictable UK weather. However, please be aware that this doesn't mean it's fully waterproof.

Which backsystem does it use?

The Tupilak 50-75 is built with a high-density EVA back panel that offers plenty of support and protects your back from getting jabbed by items inside. EVA shoulder straps are durable, comfy and relatively slim to keep the weight down without compromising comfort. The hipbelt, made of 40mm webbing, has removable EVA moulded hip fins that allow you to strip everything down to a minimum if you need to lower the weight.

What are its features?

All components of the Tupilak 50-75 are removable, allowing you to adapt the design to suit your activity.

A drawcord closure makes packing easy and gives you rapid access to minimise stop time. The top of the pack is secured with an aluminium Grappler™ buckle that is easy to use and incredibly reliable.

The internal extension collar with a drawcord closure increases the capacity for carrying extra gear.

Side compression straps help remove dead space, minimising pack size and helping prevent belongings from wobbling inside, secured with aluminium Hammerhead™ toggles.

The thermoplastic composite frame panel gives the bag more structure and supports a heavier load - this frame is removable for those counting the grams.

For climbing, the pack has dual axe toggles with an integrated pick pocket, haul loops, a daisy chain system and internal hanging loops for organisation. Plus, a shock cord system provides extra versatility and external storage - you can attach various accessory carabiners, bottles, climbing helmets or even bulkier items like sleeping pads to save precious space inside.
