What is the Metron 24?
It's a 24-litre backpack designed explicitly for commuting on a bike. However, it also works well for urban commuting and everyday lifestyles. The Metron 24 is incredibly functional and durable and has all the organisation you need for daily errands.
What is it made of?
The main body and base fabric are 500D high-tenacity nylon, which is incredibly robust and abrasion-resistant, making this bag tough enough to endure daily use. The main liner uses a lighter 200D material of the same composition to help reduce weight and bulk without compromising product longevity.
All of these materials are recycled, which of course, is much better for the planet, and treated with a PFAS-free DWR, eliminating the use of harmful PFAS compounds, otherwise known as 'forever chemicals'. DWR (durable water repellent) encourages water to bead off the fabric and provides reliable water resistance for unpredictable weather; however, please be aware that this doesn't make the bag fully waterproof!
All fabric is also bluesign® approved, meaning it's manufactured in a way that is safe for the environment, workers and consumers. bluesign® certifications ensure that the materials used avoid harmful substances, use reduced air and water emissions, increase resource productivity, and the production line is more transparent and trustworthy.
What backsystem does it use?
The Metron 24 has an Airscape backpanel with mesh-covered ridged foam on an Atilon framesheet to provide ample ventilation.
A mesh-covered die-cut foam harness with hidden reflective piping enhances ventilation further while keeping the pack stable and delivering extra visibility for low-light conditions.
A removable webbing hipbelt is lightweight and comfy and helps to alleviate weight from your lower back.
What are the features?
An internal laptop/document sleeve that fits most 16" laptops (and under) provides protection for valuable items and helps organise belongings.
U-zip access offers complete visibility into the main compartment so you don't have to faff around trying to find something buried at the bottom of your pack.
You get an internal J-zip compartment for shoes or clothing, plus a hidden Lidlock bike helmet carry to keep your helmet attached once you've reached your destination. The deployable helmet carry net also allows for maximum helmet compatibility, meaning you should be able to store any size or shape biking helmet with ease.
The front panel shove-it pocket is ideal for stowing away a waterproof, plus two side panel stretch pockets make room for chunky water bottles that you don't want taking up valuable space inside. One of these pockets has a zip closure and one with a side access for bottle carry. There's also an additional front panel zip organiser pocket with small drop-in pockets and a key clip for smaller belongings.
You can adjust the sternum strap for a more precise fit.
Lastly, a blink-light attachment loop with reflective graphics and further reflective detailing enhances visibility for biking in the dark or foggy conditions.
