What is the Abisko Hike 35?
It's a durable, 35-litre backpack that perfectly suits hut-to-hut adventures, multi-day camping trips and lightweight trekking. The Abisko Hike is packed full of features and has an adjustable, ventilated back system to keep you comfortable and supported throughout your mission.
What is it made of?
All of the fabric used to construct the Abisko Hike pack is recycled nylon - this includes the main fabric, reinforcement patches and the lining. It offers maximum durability without costing the earth (quite literally!). The main material is a 210D ripstop, thick enough to endure bumps and scrapes in rugged terrain and reinforced in vital areas such as the base.
What backsystem does it use?
This rucksack has a mesh, adjustable backsystem that allows you to customise the length to suit your height.
The back panel is constructed with ventilation air mesh that helps to draw in airflow around the rear to help prevent the most significant contact point from becoming sweaty and damp as you go. The shoulder straps and hipbelt are also constructed with the same mesh to maximise ventilation and improve comfort.
What are its features?
Honestly, the Abisko Hike isn't the lightest pack on the market, which isn't bad, but it depends on your preference and the activities you intend to use it for. Weighing 1400g, it's more suited to those who prioritise durability and function over weight and are going on more relaxed multi-day trips in rugged terrain, whether heading to your favourite bothy for the weekend or wild camping with friends.
The top-lid with bungee cord is handy for keeping smaller essentials to hand without getting them buried inside the main compartment, alongside two zippered pockets.
There's a top-loaded main compartment with a front zipper to fit bulkier bits of kit and clothing. Two sleeve compartments inside and a zippered inside pocket allow you to separate your belongings and keep them well organised, accessible through the front opening and top, giving you options of whichever is more convenient at the time!
Two oversized side pockets are great for keeping water bottles out of the way. Those who prefer using water bladders will be happy to know that the Abisko Hike is hydration compatible, so you can hook up your reservoir to keep hydrated on the go and minimise faff and stop time on the trail.
Two additional pockets on the hipbelt are handy for keeping trail snacks and energy gels within reach when you're wearing the pack.
There's an attachment on the front to carry hiking poles or ice axes and keep them from damaging contents or the bag itself from the inside.
For days when the weather isn't playing ball, you get an included rain cover with the Abisko Hike that protects the pack from wet weather, keeping everything inside dry.
