What is the Terravia Pack 22L?
It's a 22-litre day backpack for done-in-a-day adventures such as hiking, hill walking, or even urban exploring. The Terravia Pack provides storage and organisation for outdoor essentials and is made with durable materials that will last for years.
What is it made of?
This backpack's outer layer and boot are made of 100% recycled nylon ripstop, which is incredibly strong and abrasion-resistant. The raincover included with this backpack comprises 100% polyester taffeta, which is durable yet lightweight and packable. The shell, boot and rain cover fabrics feature a PU-coating and a PFC-free DWR (durable water repellent) for optimised performance and protection.
A PFC-free durable water repellent (DWR) adds to the material's water resistance, encouraging light rain and snow to bead away.
PFC-free means perfluorinated chemical-free. Perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs), used to add water repellent to textiles, aren't able to break down, so once they reach nature via factory water waste, they stay in the ecosystem and contaminate living organisms, working their way up the food chain. PFC's are suspected carcinogens and have been known to affect mammal reproduction and hormone production. Therefore, many leading brands in the outdoor industry are now prioritising cutting out the use of these chemicals entirely to contribute to a more responsible manufacturing process.
Polyester mesh is used to construct the back panel, hipbelt and shoulder straps, whilst the pockets are made with nylon and spandex mesh. The bag is lined with 100% recycled polyester, again with a PU coating for enhanced longevity.
What backsystem does it use?
This backpack features a basic backsystem with a layered foam frame sheet and suspended padded mesh backpanel. It's specifically engineered to provide excellent airflow and prevent moisture build-up for all-day comfort, even in hot or humid conditions.
The shoulder straps and hip belt are lightly padded and made with highly breathable Regulator® air mesh for extra ventilation.
