What is the Gregory Nano 16L Backpack?
The Gregory Nano 16 Backpack is a versatile, lightweight daypack designed to carry essentials while keeping you comfortable. Whether you're hitting the trails, enjoying a music festival, or exploring a new city, the Nano 16 is built to keep up with your active lifestyle.
What is it made of?
The Nano backpack is designed using data from the Lifecycle Analysis (LCA) tool, which helps reduce its environmental impact. By incorporating 100% recycled polyester fabric in a portion of the pack, Gregory has significantly lowered its carbon footprint. This eco-conscious approach repurposes existing materials, reducing the need for virgin resources and supporting Gregory's sustainability and waste reduction commitment.
The backpack's body is constructed from 210D honeycomb cryptorip nylon, a robust and lightweight material known for its exceptional durability. This fabric can withstand the rigours of outdoor adventures, providing excellent resistance to tears and abrasions. Whether hiking through rugged terrain or navigating urban streets, this material ensures your backpack remains resilient and dependable.
Additionally, the fabric features a C0 DWR (Durable Water-repellent) coating, designed without the use of PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), which are commonly found in many water-repellent treatments but are known to be harmful to both the environment and human health. By opting for a C0 DWR, this backpack offers reliable water resistance to protect your gear from light rain and moisture without compromising environmental responsibility. The absence of PFAS in the coating means it significantly reduces the impact on ecosystems, ensuring that no harmful chemicals are released into waterways or the atmosphere.
The Gregory Nano 16L backpack's base is crafted from 450D high-density nylon, which adds extra strength and resilience to the bottom area, typically the most prone to wear and tear. This reinforced base enhances the backpack's durability, making it suitable for various activities and terrains. It also features the same C0 DWR coating as the body, offering water resistance while being environmentally conscious.
The backpack's lining is made from 40% post-consumer recycled 135D polyester, which helps reduce waste by repurposing materials that would otherwise end up in landfills. It also features a PFC-free durable water repellent (DWR) treatment, providing water resistance without the use of harmful chemicals.
The backpack's harness, hip belt, lumbar support, and chassis are all crafted from multi-density foam and designed to provide optimal comfort and support. This foam technology features varying densities that cater to different body areas, ensuring a balance of cushioning and stability where it's needed most. The harness and hip belt offer softer foam for comfort, while firmer foam in the lumbar area and chassis delivers crucial support for load distribution.
The multi-density foam system helps reduce pressure points during long wear and enhances the backpack's overall structure. By combining both soft and firm foam, it adapts to your body's shape and movement while ensuring that the backpack maintains its shape and stability under heavy loads. This makes it ideal for extended adventures, providing comfort, support, and durability even in demanding conditions.
What type of back system is used?
The backpack is designed with an updated back panel and harness perforations to enhance breathability, ensuring a cooler and more comfortable experience during your adventures. Its back system includes a Die-Cut back panel that promotes optimal airflow, keeping you cool and ventilated, even during more intense activities.
The padded air mesh shoulder harnesses further enhance comfort. With effective cushioning and better weight distribution, these harnesses help minimise shoulder and upper body pain, including soreness, pressure points, and chafing.
A one-handed sternum strap buckle allows for easy adjustments on the move. At the same time, the routing loops are designed to seamlessly integrate a hydration system, helping you stay refreshed and energised during your outdoor adventures.
What are its features?
This pack features a quick-pull drawcord closure, allowing for fast and easy access to your gear. The large reflective webbing puller makes it even more convenient, ensuring you can open the pack quickly, even in low-light conditions. Whether you're on the move or need quick access to your essentials, this design makes it simple and hassle-free.
For those who need quick access to hydration, the dual-side mesh pockets are perfect for holding water bottles. They're right there, easily accessible when you need a sip without having to stop and search for your bottle.
There's also a top-zippered pocket with a key clip, which is excellent for keeping your smaller essentials safe. No more fumbling around for your keys or phone—everything has a place and stays put.
You'll also love the internal hydration sleeve. It comes with a universal reservoir hanger, so you can securely hang your hydration bladder, and there's even a hydration port that makes it easy to drink on the go.
The reflective webbing loops are a thoughtful touch, especially if you find yourself outdoors during low-light conditions. Whether hiking early in the morning or biking into the evening, the added visibility will help to keep you safe.
