What is the Aether Pro 75?
The Aether Pro 75 is a lightweight, versatile, 75-litre backpack designed for extended adventures off the beaten track. Whether rock climbing, winter camping or backpacking in remote environments, the Aether Pro 75 provides fantastic storage and organisation with a more streamlined design.
What is it made of?
Main fabric: The main fabric is bluesign® approved NanoFly™, which comprises a 100% recycled nylon ripstop. This material provides exceptional durability with minimum weight and bulk, ensuring it'll easily endure bumps and scrapes in rocky or rugged terrain. The fabric is treated with a PFAS-free DWR (durable water repellent) to provide water resistance without causing permanent damage to our ecosystems. However, please note that DWR doesn't make a material fully waterproof.
Base: Osprey has reinforced the base of the pack with bluesign® approved 500D high-tenacity nylon for extra durability. The base is also treated with a PFAS-free DWR to reduce the amount of water it might soak up when you place the pack on damp ground.
Lining: A bluesign® approved, 100% recycled nylon is used to line the inside of the backpack. Though recycled, this material is rugged enough to withstand plenty of wear and keep your valuables protected. Plus, even the lining has a PFAS-free DWR treatment!
bluesign® approval means the product/material is manufactured in a way that is safe for the environment, workers and consumers. bluesign® certifications ensure that the materials used avoid harmful substances, use reduced air and water emissions, increase resource productivity, and the production line is more transparent and trustworthy.
What backsystem does it use?
The Aether Pro 75 features an AirScape™ suspension system. It's built with a LightWire peripheral frame, which helps spread the load, and an updated AirScape™ backpanel. The AirScape™ backpanel comprises an injection-moulded, die-cut foam framesheet designed to maintain comfort. This framesheet also has ventilated airflow channels and provides maximum stability for carrying heavier loads.
A silicone-printed lumbar combined with an open mesh backpanel supports your back without adding excessive weight.
You can adjust the back to get the perfect fit every time using the webbing torso-length adjusters. They hold in place securely and are super tough to ensure they don't break or snap mid-adventure.
Custom, fit-on-the-fly shoulder straps ensure that the straps wrap around the shoulders comfortably whilst providing a secure and precise fit. The straps are made with spacer mesh to increase temperature regulation and offer a more comfortable contact surface.
A custom, fit-on-the-fly, Crossbody ErgoPull hipbelt fits various waist sizes and includes incremental length and angle adjustments to dial down the fit. The belt pulls weight into the lumbar when you tighten the hipbelt, helping to prevent back pains and injury when carrying your load on the trails.
Having a properly fitted backpack is incredibly important. It helps to prevent aches and pains as you move, which, in turn, also helps you to avoid injury. If you need help fitting your backpack correctly, why not check out our YouTube guide? Click here to watch.
What are its features?
A vertical front zip provides access to the main compartment, making it easy to reach the contents inside. If you don't want to take the backpack off, there's a full-length, vertical side zipper you can use instead. You can also remove the top lid. It has an integrated FlapJacket cover if you want to remove the lid and use your pack without it.
Dual-side compression straps help you to cinch dead space when the bag isn't fully loaded. These straps are also removable if you want to shed as much weight as possible. You'll also find dual-front compression straps with StraightJacket Compression across the front of the bag.
The reinforced cord loops can attach an additional Osprey Daylite daypack, which is ideal if you plan on camping for multiple days and hiking around the area you're staying in. These loops also double up as exterior storage. You can easily attach accessory carabiners for carrying drybags, jackets, shoes, etc.
Dual ice tool loops with upper cord attachments offer secure storage for ice axes. You can remove these if they don't apply to your activity or if you're counting grams.
Sleeping pad straps allow you to attach your mat to the outside to save precious space inside. Once again, these straps are removable, offering plenty of versatility and set-up options according to your adventure.
The sternum strap has a small whistle, which comes in handy for emergencies or when the pooch is running amok two fields over.
The hipbelt has small, removable pockets, perfect for keeping trail snacks and energy gels on hand.
An internal reservoir sleeve allows you to carry water without the big, clunky bottle.
