What is the Rook 65?
It's a lightweight, simple backpack that provides organisation and comfort for adventures of all levels. The Rook 65 is built with quality materials and offers ample comfort, ventilation and organisation for multi-day trips, whether backpacking, thru-hiking or camping.
What is it made of?
The primary material and base of the pack comprise 100% recycled 600D polyester, which is highly durable and lightweight. The material is treated with a PFAS-free DWR (durable water repellent) to enhance water resistance without damaging our ecosystems. Please note this doesn't make the bag completely waterproof.
The fabric is also bluesign® approved, meaning the product is manufactured safely for the environment, workers and consumers. bluesign® certifications ensure that the materials used avoid harmful substances, use reduced air and water emissions, increase resource productivity, and the production line is more transparent and trustworthy.
What back system does it use?
The back system of the Rook 65 uses an Osprey Airspeed® suspension system and back panel, with lightweight, padded mesh on the harness.
The suspension system features a LightWire™ alloy frame that creates low-profile air space, optimising pack balance and ventilation. It effectively transfers weight from the shoulders to the hips to help prevent back pains and aches.
The Airspeed® back panel is designed with a 3D-tensioned, breathable mesh back panel with side ventilation to enhance comfort and prevent sweat build-up.
Both the harness and hip belt are made with a soft, edgeless padded mesh, offering a breathable contact surface and ample load support. The harness slides over the Airspeed® suspension unit to deliver over five inches of adjustability, ensuring an excellent fit every time. It also features an adjustable sternum strap with an attached whistle in case of emergency.
What are its features?
A fixed top lid helps to protect the opening of the main compartment. It features a zipped pocket to give you quick access to essentials like snacks, gloves or a map/GPS device.
Dual upper and lower-side compression straps allow you to cinch dead space when the pack isn't fully loaded. Compression straps help reduce the bag's overall volume and prevent items from rattling around inside.
A zippered sleeping bag compartment with a floating divider allows you to carry a sleeping bag without occupying valuable space in the main compartment. Removable sleeping pad straps also allow you to attach your mat externally to save space inside.
Dual mesh side pockets work perfectly for holding bulky water bottles that you may want to keep within reach. If you're a fan of hydration bladders, then you're in luck! You can hook your system to an internal hydration sleeve for hands-free, on-the-go hydration.
There are pockets on the hip belt for stashing small essentials like a headtorch or energy gels, giving you access without taking the bag off completely.
An integrated removable raincover protects from wet weather without adding excessive grams or bulk. The Rook 65 also offers Osprey Daylite pack compatibility for extra carry.
