What is the Talon Pro 20?
The Talon Pro 20 is a versatile backpack with 20 litres of storage for various activities. Whether exploring a local crag, bikepacking at the weekend or hiking a new route with friends, this durable bag will last for a lifetime of adventures, no matter what or where.
What is it made of?
Main fabric: The main fabric is bluesign® approved NanoFly™, comprising a 100% recycled nylon ripstop with added reinforcement. This material provides exceptional durability with minimum weight and bulk, ensuring it'll easily endure bumps and scrapes in rocky or rugged terrain. The fabric is treated with a PFAS-free DWR (durable water repellent) to provide water resistance without causing permanent damage to our ecosystems. However, please note that DWR doesn't make a material fully waterproof.
Base: Osprey has reinforced the backpack's base with bluesign® approved 420D nylon, which is also 100% recycled. Though recycled, this material doesn't compromise performance and offers years of wear, no matter what you're doing or where. Osprey has also treated the base with the same PFAS-free DWR as the primary fabric.
Lining: This backpack is lined with a lighter, bluesign® approved, 70D nylon, which is thinner than the outer materials to help reduce weight and bulk. Once again, this lining also features a PFAS-free DWR to help protect belongings from nasty weather and spills.
bluesign® approval means the product/material is manufactured in a way that is safe for the environment, workers and consumers. bluesign® certifications ensure that the materials used avoid harmful substances, use reduced air and water emissions, increase resource productivity, and the production line is more transparent and trustworthy.
Which back system does it use?
The Talon Pro 20 is built with an AirScape™ back panel comprising an injection-moulded, die-cut foam frame sheet designed to maintain comfort and provide maximum stability for carrying heavier loads. This framesheet also has ventilated airflow channels for breathability.
A mesh-covered foam lumbar helps to reduce weight whilst increasing comfort around each contact point.
There's also a sliding yoke torso length system, which ensures a precise fit with stability to prevent it from slipping down your back as you walk.
Integrated BioStretch seams on the harness and hip belt allow you to move dynamically during extensive activities without your bag hindering your performance. The hip belt also features a lumbar-to-belt body wrap to help the backpack move as one with your body, alongside a Crossbody ErgoPull system, which pulls the lumbar into the body for stability and an even weight distribution.
A die-cut foam harness and belt straps provide good padding for comfort. The foam is wrapped with Spacermesh to amplify breathability, helping to prevent sweat build-up around contact areas.
What features does it have?
Convenient panel access to the main compartment lets you reach your belongings in a jiffy.
An external, top panel slash pocket keeps items handy, such as gloves, hats or a compass, without being squashed down into the central portion of the backpack.
Stretchy, woven side pockets are ideal for accommodating water bottles. However, if you prefer using a hydration bladder for on-the-go, hands-free hydration, this pack also features an internal reservoir sleeve that allows you to hook up your system easily.
A large, stretchy front panel pocket works well for stowing spare waterproofs or a map, keeping them within reach at all times.
The low-profile LidLock attachment is adaptable for carrying various types of helmets.
Tuck-away ice axe attachments are secured with bungee tie-offs for maximum security, ensuring your sharp tools don't move around or dig into the bag as you walk.
Dual V-pull side compression straps allow you to cinch any dead space when the backpack isn't fully loaded, improving stability whilst reducing overall volume.
The hip belt features small zip pockets that keep essentials like snacks and energy gels handy, whilst the blinker light attachment allows you to clip on a light for visibility after sundown - ideal for cycling and biking.
For emergencies, the sternum strap has a small, built-in whistle to allow you to call for help if you need it.
All external zips are PU laminated for added water resistance, helping to block rainwater from seeping through the entry points to help keep your belongings dry and protected in even the most unpredictable conditions.
